I'm in the market for a new car maybe. so far i have these in mind.

hpi R40
hpi type ss
mugen mtx3
trinity reflex.

I'm going to use the car for parking lot fun really, but i want it to be good. thats just how i am , even if I'm fooling around, i need the best... but i also want something that is easy to build , easy to maintain and durable because i do occasionally crash. another requirement is taht it can fit a fantom .15 engine in it. thanks guys

thumbs up for the fantom. umm what about an ntc3? thats not on your list. the r40 is pretty expenive and its basically an all out racer so since your gonna be bashing you might want something else. shaft drive would be best.

your list looks good but this would be better, list going by my first choice, I am keeping expenses in mind here!

NTC3
Mugen
trinity
serpent

notice that the list dosnt have any hpi? Theres a good reason for that,, if you want to bash and have the best get the NTC3 and you will soon know why! Good luck!

banshee and nitromaniac . i know the ntc3 is great, and I'm a little pissed at myself for forgetting it. i would like to get one a lot, but my hobby shop doesn't carry much for them and i hate to order things. the stuff my shop carries is basically all hpi. so i wanted to try and stick with that. however they do carry some things for the reflex and g4... i saw a guy with an ntc3 at my shop all stock except for 2 speed (i dont know if 2 speed is stock) and he was hitting about 50+ mph with a thunder tiger .12 engine ... imagine what my 15 would do

You can get the tc3 and mabye need a part once in a while or you can get an hpi and spend alot of time at the lhs, its just that good! but do what you really want to do, I am more than happy with mine, I think a tc3 kit would be good for any one!
2 speed only comes with the kit and is a must have, but they are extremely easy to instal into an rtr, good luck!

well since its an on-road, i dont think too many things will be breaking unless you smash it into a curb or something. by the way the fantom will completely rape everyone if you put it in the tc3. but it all comes back to you and what you wanna get. whatever car you go with, make sure you have fun with it. thats all that matters.

I have an HPI, the only time I spend at the hobby shop for it is when it has been my fault. I have been very happy with my RS4. I don't race it, and as a parking lot basher it has been a great car.

I agree with the shaft drive for parking lots, with belts one small rock and your done or wrenchin, I have had no problems at all with my shaft drive. The SS would be a good choice, especially if your hobby shop stocks a good selection of parts for hpi. The rtr however requires alot of upgrades that the SS already has included in the kit.

I have a HPI SS 4 sale with it fully loaded with all the hopups.
Let me know if you are intrested in a used race car.
It has a racing setup that will kill in a parking lot.
Let me know if you want it.
We can work a price later.
Peter
P.S. If you want all info on it I can do that.

Well i'd go with an R40. I wouldn't mind having one of those. Looks like a really good chassis

The R40 does look like a nice ride, but it is designed to be an all out racer. It doesn't look like it would be good on parking lots or less than perfect tracks. JMO though

Well I never had any problems with rocks taking out my belts on my OFNA nitro Ob4 when I had it.

Personally though, I don't go by what's the best parking lot basher, but rather what has the most race potential for a given budget. I always gear my cars toward race legal so if I ever want to race I have that option.

3ss is a great car, mines becoming an all out racer, even stock it performed great,it is very durable and dependable!!

yeah... I agree.. out of the box (kit actually) the 3ss is worth it... you save more then getting the RTR 3 and upgrading that.. but usually RTR are for beginners since it comes with a radio..
