Extended Product Information:
MSRP: $499.95
Don't wait, this $199.99 price is temporary, it will go back up. We're overstocked and want to move a bunch of these

Best bang for the buck, this is one of our favorite Nitro cars. Ofna`s high performance racing program has spawned a new nitro powered touring car to compete in this competetive market. The LD3 has a shaft drive chassis with front and rear differentials and cv style front driveshafts. From a sport and outdoor racing persepctive, the advantage to shaft drive over a belt drive is that small rocks and pebbles that tear up a belt, won't tear up a shaft. Makes the car more freindly, and requires less maintenance and down time for repairs. You want to spend time playing and racing... not fixing. This is the way to go. We have sold hundreds of these, it's a great car.

High performance features include:
Complete radio system with servos, installed
Car is assembled, Ready to run
Force .12 Redhead engine, with slide carburetor
Polished 6 ring tuned pipe with big bore header

ok that looks nice but how would you rank each of these car

1. traxxas 4 tec
2. asociated tc3
3. hpi rs4

I would rank them:

1.LD3
2.NTC3
3.RS4
4.4tec

Ofna is pushing their CD3 at the moment, so the prices on the LD3 have been slashed, the LD3 is still a fantastic car though and at that price its da bomb.

Yea the LD3 looks nice...and that price is tempting me even though I not even really into Onroad cars.

Nitrost, I highl reccomended going with the LD3. It will handle better than that RS4 on ebay, and any RS4 for that matter, plus it is brand new. You don't have to worry about missuse of the previous owner which is nice.

For 250-300, its hard to beat the value of an NTC3 plus. For racing, the only HPI car that can hang with the NTC3, is the R40. I haven't seen any LD3's at my local track, but from what I've read, its almost a complete replica of the NTC3.

The NTC3 plus has a .15 engine, which rocks. Its very very very fast for a first time on road racer. Take off the carb restrictor, and you're hitting 50-55 mph, according to an article I've read on R/C Car. That engine will definitely be faster than the .12 on the LD3. Plus the car has great parts support, and is built to be very competitive at the races.

You can find great NTC3's on ebay, that have some awesome mods, for the price range of 250-300. NTC3's with Sirio's, Novarossi's, OS engines, etc. Here's a car that I won for 250, with a Novarossi MT12, hard core racing chasis, FT CVD's, carbon fiber upper chasis, all carbon chasis components, threaded shocks, etc. Its basically a factory team car, with a better chasis. The car was hardly used at all, looking at the wear and tear of the tranny, chasis, and engine. Only thing it needs is the ver2 suspension for the rear, which should cost around 40 bucks.

I definitely highly recommend getting the NTC3. The handling is awesome (no comparison to my HPI RS4 3 18SS. The NTC3 outclasses this car in every way other than engine performance) and outclasses a lot of the RTR's out there.

LD3, after looking at it, is a copy of the NTC3. Only thing I can noticable see different are the shock tower designs. Otherwise, the engine laytout, 2speed, squirrel tail pipe ... they all remind me of the NTC3 (ver2).

Edit
Shoot, just buy my rolling chassis and you're set for the races. throw in an engine and rx/tx. I gotta get those pics up! I'm being lazy.

I just found out myself our very own Bruce from Rush RC sells ofna parts, he should be able to hook you up with whatever you need.

I would definately avoid Dinball, and Nitrohouse, I have had bad luck with both of them. Maybe Nitrohouse is better if you call them, but there on line ordering is terrible.

just thought of this people said earlier that its very similiar to ntc3 will any of those part work.

Nitrohouse.com is OFNA (for USA) so parts should not be a problem. A couple of people reported busy phone lines and hard to understand website ordering instructions, but overall they are a top-notch operation. They also sell Revo, Thunder Tiger and some Mugen.

I would stay away from the 4Tec. I have yet to see a satisfied owner other than a 8 year old kid who gets his first nitro R/C. It's TOO much of a RTR.

I fully agree that the NTC3 is a better racer then the HPI RS4. The R40 is in a different category than both cars. The weight distribution and suspension setup is better on the belt driven R40.

Ross is absolutely correct. The R40 is an awesome value for a car. Just add your electronics and motor, and you've got yourself a great racer for less than 500. OR, you can go the used route and find a nice hopped up R40 on ebay or on the other RC websites.

At a local race yesterday the only cars ahead of the r40 that was there was 2 serpent 710 and that was mainly because they were running really hot collari's where the r40 had a mild nova rossi.

IMO the driver skill is going to make a bigger difference than the motor.

Yup. My day at Prospeed more than proved that

Did the driver have anything to do with the destroyed body as well?

EVERYTHING To do with the destroyed body and the horrible showing. My motor was awesome though. I mean I didnt touch a setting all day long. But my driving was horrible. Things will be diffrent next time.....hopefully
