I know r/c, they break & your going to need parts. I will be the first thing to go on the Savy, with normal driving? Are there any inherant week points that need fixing right of the bat? Thanks guys:banana:
 
The only major problems I see with the X right out of the box are the servos. With the stock servos, the brakes are awful and the steering is slow and a little weak. Other than that I have sent it over 10 feet in the air and landed on many different parts of the truck, nothing broken yet!
 
I found for occassional parking lot and off road bashing the steering is ok, just don't turn the wheels when the trucks on the ground and not moving. Doing the Ofna brake mod that's listed here makes the brakes work very well. Before the mod my brakes sucked. After doing the mod I wouldn't say it will flip it over but when you hit the brakes it stops mighty quick.
 
Good choice in getting a savage man! I have the 25 but my best bud has a x. He said that he has already ripped a spur gear just from breaking it in. Thats cuz the factory gear mesh is waked. So your gonna wanna check that before you do anything. And he did mention that the brakes and steering don't work very good in the grass.

Is the Savage much bigger then the Tmaxx? I have a 1st Gen maxx that I bought when it first came out & looking to update the Stable. Thanks
 
The savage is one scale bigger. The maxx is 1/10 and the savvy is 1/8. So it makes it much more fun to drive, plus it makes it much more durable.

I have had my savage for 4 months and have only broken 1 thing. And thats the spur gear. The the gears itself but the center of the gear with the slipper pad. Thats cuz the bolt loosened in a field and warped the spur gear and would only slip. But thats the only problem i have had with mine.

When i was first selecting a car to buy i first wanted a maxx. I started talking to my friends who used to have t maxxs but sold them for diff. kinds of savage cuz they spent a lot more time fixing than driving. Thats why i love my savage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
My friend has a Tmaxx 2.5 and I have the Savage 25 and sitting next to each other the size difference really isn't anything that big. You have to remember it's based on a scale truck so they could say if they wanted that a real Savage if there was one was a little smaller so at 1:8 scale it would be the same size as a 1:10 Tmaxx if a real Tmaxx was bigger, does that make sense? The only thing that went on mine was spur gear which I quickly replaced and haven't had a problem since. I bought an extra one too because at $5 it's cheap enough to have an extra on hand. Anyway, as it's been said 100X, the Savage is a beast when it comes to durability, just use common sense and then go just one step past that. :)
 
There is a real savage. It looks just like the 25. Go onto the savage 25 tour and check out the pictures. It gives rides around parking lots. Hope this helps!
 
The Savage is not massive compared to the Maxx, but all of its parts are much bigger and beefier, which makes for a stronger truck.
