hey guys, i've never had an air leak but i'm pretty sure that i have one. I rebuilt a revo that i got in parts, including the engine. i put a new sleeve and piston in it and just put a new carb on it a few days ago. after the break in, i started tuning it. I have the spektrum dx3s tx with the telemetry rx installed on the revo and was watching my engine temps. they seemed really high for just putting around the yard. i wasn't even going half throttle and it was at the 250 mark. it was running rich at that time and that's way too high for running rich. now that i think of it, i didn't mess with the low end needle. I got the carb new from towerhobbies.com and it's the 2.5 carb but i know it goes on the 3.3 as well. i'm assuming that it came with the needle settings for the 2.5. so i guess when i get a chance i'll seal the carb and HSN housing up really well because i sealed the header and backplate after rebuild. does that sound like an air leak to you guys?

Did you calibrate the telemetry with a separate temp gun? If so, I'd seal the carb throat along with the other things you mentioned. Start at factory settings afterwards. Come on guru, you should no this.:third_place:

lol yea yea!!!!no i didn't calibrate it. i guess that's a good idea. i've been sittin here at damn work all day thinking about it. if i could be at home wrenching on it i would be. i'm just sitting here thinkin....about it and wanted to share it with you guys
