yep 7-20-14 sun. NHRA drag racing Denver Co. 2 fuel classes Top Fuel / Funny Car 20 passes out of 30 had 1 or 2 cars NOT at full power at the end of track. glad i didnt go there and pay money to see it. of course when you own half the car at the track you can't help but do good.

UPDATE: 7-27-14 sanoma cal. same thing two classes TOP FUEL / FUNNY CAR. takes a total of 30 passes to finish. and how many pass was both cars at full power? a TOTAL of 6. no thats NOT a mistake. 6 passes both cars at full power. could this happen? iam a top furl tuner and EVERY run the other guy fails to be at full power at the finish line? SOOOOOO did i win the race? what think?

I'd be really pissed if most of the "races" turned out that way, for the cost of getting through the gate anymore it's a non starter for me.

yep i have been flamed on another site so bad i may not go back. for some reason some people think engines blowing up, and tires spinning is a RACE. ???????? no its a FAIL to race. iam like you iam glad i didnt pay good money to see 70% of the passes fail to power to the finish line.

Yah, by the time I drive to the race, pay to get in and most all I see is tire smoke, sliding cars and grenaded engines I wouldn't be too happy with that.

I saw a quick 32 in Orlando once at the street car shootout and half the first round red lighted, second round was a smoke fest and third round it poured like the it was the amazon rainy season!

I have lived 30 years in the same town as New England Dragway. As a resident I even get free annual pass's. I haven't been there once.

you may not know this but i am BIG drag race fan. my first drag race was NHRA first nationals. 1955 greatbend KS. drag racing means so much to cause my dad and i went to lots of drag races. my dad and i was VERY close. RIP dad

wit, if got free passes and lived in the same town as the track, then I wouldn't care less what happened.

I drive half way across the state on my dime, I expect to see good racing.

I hear ya Moe, I used to get to the track at least once a month(Orlando), but since they closed up shop, and are getting turned into a distribution center for wallyworld, the next closest to me are West Palm, Bradenton, & Gainesville I won't be going to any drag racing anytime soon. :(

I hear what your saying. I have paid out of pocket tens of thousands over the years to go to stock car races at various tracks all over New England. Lucky enough that I have 2 with in a 15 minute drive. And have seen good racing and some bad racing. I'm only 45 minutes from NHIS and have attended the NASCAR races up there many years ago. I love NASCAR but on any track much bigger than 1/3 mile you can't see hardly any of the race except whats going on in front of you. Go to the NHIS 1 miler's or larger and you can't see much of anything. So just like drag racing, I way prefer to watch racing on TV.

Best part besides no expenses to be paid, no waiting in line for my bathroom and hot dogs don't cost me $5 each. :D

in the late 60s my dad and i would go to tulsa OK for two days for $300 for both of us. got to see the hurst hemi under glass, the little red wagon. in 1968 i got to talk to Ronnie Sox standing next to the new Hemi Cuda.

You're paying only $5 a hot dog? Such a deal.

Cheap store bought works for me. Your paying more than $5 for a hot dog? Does yours come with a free saw horse to bend you over with it?

;)

yes your right going to any drag race today is not cheap. BUT in the early days if you went to a drag race and they had port-a-pottys you were in good shape.

Whenever we went racing we alway brought our own grill and grilled out in the pits.
