The black plastic cap on top of the TRX 2.5 engine is always flying away when I drive my T-Maxx.

Does it have any other purpose that to hold the blue wire in place for the EZ start system ???

Is there any way I can keep it in place. some heat resistant glue or anything so I eventually can still get to the bolts on the cooling head....

Regards.... :)

The black plastic thingie keeps the top your head from getting all scuffed up. Put some zip ties through the top fin and then through the hole of the cap. That should hold it on and have no problem falling off. Here's a pic I took off of a Traxxas board. If you need to get to the head bolts cut the zip ties.

Heheh!!

Actually I allready saw this done on some "show me your truck" posting...

But the problem is that I do not have anywhere to stick the zip tie through.:x

I still have the original TRX 2.5 cooling head and there's no holes in the cooling fins...

What do I do ??? (well i guess trying not to flip the truck over,,,, but then there's no fun left.....)

My next driving / bashing day will not be untill friday evening or sathurday, but I would like to have it fixed before then...

What are my possibilities ??

Man!!!! I must be getting blind..

Not only is this exactly the picture I allready looked at before....

How on earth could I miss the passage on the cooling head..

Thank you big kal.....

Sasquatch out....

I need to look at the stock cooling head again. I have an aftermarket head. In between the top of the head and the first fin, I believe you should be able to stick a zip tie through there and then out the top of head. Right?

Yup!!! you're right. i allready edited my post....

Guell I need to -> 8-0

Or stop :wasted: too much.... just kidding.

Sasquatch....

Glad you got that taken care of. I didn't see the edit until after I posted.

Why not just remove the cap and put four wire ties through the top fin at 90 dgree angles? My engines don't have protective covers and the ties (especially the heaviest that fit) work real good and are cheap to replace when they get screwed up.

I don't have my cap I lost it somwear. You don't need it. I also busted my cooling head up.

After you cross-thread the glow plug and have to replace the heat sink you can use the old head for a wrench holder!
