I don't know about where you live, but around here it's going for $45 a gallon + tax. That puts me at $50 OTD, and that's just too much IMO. Sadly, what started off years ago as a way for me to unwind when I didn't feel like loading up the bikes and heading to the track, has now become almost too expensive to keep up. I can burn through a gallon in my Savage in two days no problem, and if I bring any other cars out then you can cut that down to one day and maybe a few tanks left over. I love the sounds and smells of the nitro cars, but what little fuel I have left I think I'm gonna dial 'em in and sell them off. What's everyone elses take on the cost of fuel lately?

Holy crap dude! It took me a month or more to go through a gallon.

Well, let's see.

The tank on the Savvy holds 160cc of go juice
There are 3785 cc's in a gallon

So 3785 / 160 = 23.66 tanks of fuel which last roughly 12 to 14 minutes of run time. I won't run more than two tanks back to back without letting the truck cool, but still if you go out and bash for the day.......and I mean for the day.....8 to 10 hours worth, it doesn't take long at all. Even if you round it up to 24 full tanks, and figure 15 minute run times that only gives you 6 hours of run time for $50.

I've never went through a gallon in 2 days, and I hit the track hard for a few days with my twin engine lol! and a tank on that beast lasts about long enough for you to refill your fuel bottle.

:whhooo: Wow and i thought Nitro fuel was expensive enough as it is. Around here a gallon runs about $35 of course depending on what brand and where you get it. I have always used Monster trinity 20%. I normally buy the quart for about $17 - $20 I was at my LHS and the price actually went down a bit. I am now starting to buy it by the gallon and i am so glad it ain't $45-$60!

Yeah Alex, I've been a big fan of the Trinity MHP also. It used to be $27.99 a gallon here three years ago, then it went to $34.99 and now $44.99.

I sure hope they aren't using rising auto fuel costs to claim need to increase nitro fuel. One has nothing to do with the other.

As far as costs, try getting a few local nitro burning friends that use the same fuel together and buy it by the case or work out a buld deal. Just food for thought.

Well, just do like me and switch to a gasoline rig. Much MUCH cheaper, and you get to keep the ol savvy in case you're nostalgic hehe.

wow some of these prices I'm hearing is just nuts i pay 26.79 a gallon, of course thats 20% traxxas fuel but still I'm not complaining, yet anyways!

Nah, it just has to do with the fact that my LHS had his vendor go up in price. Also UPS, and Fedex went up on shipping and are charging hazmat fees on all shipments of nitro fuel. I think it's $20 extra a case. And I have no one else close that's into RC or I would do a group buy.

The plan is to sell the RS4 and the Savvy and look for a used Baja5 B.

This is a hobby for FUN not a way of life. I probably go out for an hours run every weekend and a gallon will last me 12 hours! Take into account that not every weekend will be dry and you can extend that even more. Get a life!

I'm only 12 and I only use my R/C once a week give or take weather conditionds so obviously you have too much money as you have no regards of hoe much fuel costs when u dont get ANY pocket money:nono::angry:

dam i must be doing good i have had my rc for a good hmm 2 to 3 months maybe and i still havent hit halfway on a gallon of fuel lol and i prolly run it every other day run about 3 to 4 tanks each time
