Hi everyone I'm currently considering selling up in nitro to move to petrol in december. I'm looking for any advice what cars to look at? All the kit I'll need? Is it cheaper than nitro to run? I know fuel prices are. Thanks

on or off road. if on, sedan or f1, if off, ST, MT or Buggy?

do you want to build or buy rtr?
what is your budget? how much you looking to spend?
do you have GOOD electronics now? or will you need to figure them into the budget?

1. Definatly off road either an MT or buggy.
2. RTR or Build it myself.
3. £400 ($800 roughly)
4. Not sure what you mean about the electronics.
Thanks

ok for 800 US dollars, you would be JUST SHY of a new RTR baja, you could buy the Baja SS, but you still need a t/b servo, radio gear and battery.

so i would suggest you look for a slightly used unit to get the cost down, or save up a bit more 100 to 200 GPBs, and get the stuff new.

if you can build that will help somewhat whether its new or used.

some rtr electronics work, but are far from being good quality electronics. a 30.00 servo just dont measure up to a 100.00 servo performance wise.

I am willing to build but can't really stretch my budget. I have been looking at the Hobby Pro H10 is it a well known brand in the world of petrol RC are parts readily available etc. Though the Baja does seem truly awesome it looks quite (dare I say) fragile I'm sure it's not but I just wouldn't feel comfortable bashing off-road with £500-600 ($1000) worth of buggy that looks like a drag racer.

heh, have no fear my friend. go over to our sister site. www.hpibajaforum.com

after some reading you ll find most users that have had other large scale bashers, its much tougher than it looks, and is a much better unit over the other options, regardless of price. imho, the baja is the most bash worthy unit, though it does have its out of the box issues, its a pretty well setup platform.

also seach youtube, for Baja 5B and baja5b or hpi baja and watch some of the vids. you ll find its not all that fragile realy.

for some various videos, you can check my google vids here. about 2 pages of baja bashing. all are good and most show its durabilty.
