sounds like a air leak. if you have a leak no matter how rich you run it, air will come in and make it lean. first check your tank lid, i think the revo had a problem with the lid sealing. change your fuel lines, check your fuel filter if you have one. maby take the carb off and make sure it isnt clogged. seal the carb, seal the backplate. make sure your head screws are tight, and eveny tightend down.
Also check 2.5R overheating thread, good way to check for air leaks, don't keep running mtr. over 300 use temp gauge, if it hits 290 shut it down until you find leak, then replace cooling head w/ larger one.

Way to hot, don't be afraid to open the body up more, on my Revo I cut about a 2.25 inch hole in windshield, and cut more out of the back window. Running temps from 250 to 270 OS .18TM
