I've heard people say their 3.3 runs good at 230-250. Mine runs good at 250-270. I'm betting you'll get a different temp range from everyone. I haven't been impressed with the ability of the 3.3 to hold a tune, seems like I have to tweek it every time I take it out to run. I still love the truck, but I doubt I will use the ERP when this engine dies. I'll spend the extra money for a better one.

+1 to Mr. Clean. The only thing I might add is that some people spend so much time trying to get their temp in a certain range and the engine may or may not run well there. As long as you are not running it too hot, and 300+ is too hot, then I don't worry too much. Best method I ever used was the old spit test--if you run it like hell for 5-7 minutes and then spit on the head you will know where your tune is. If it sizzles right away it is too lean...
