ok well I've been reading my manual for it and see that it says 260-360 are noraml temp and to be honest those temps scare me lol. I was wondering if this engine really runs those temps or not but if its ok and normal then i guess ill beable to deal with those temps.

hey, I have this motor in my maxx, and have run almost 3 gallons of fuel thru it. my normal operating temp is around 300 degrees. I know this sounds insane, but as long as it is putting out a good trail of smoke, then i guess that those temps are okay, no problems yet, 3 gallons and still going strong!!!

I'm assuming this is the Fantom .18FR, and if so...those are about right for that engine. Depending on the variant some internals actually need to run at hotter temperatures. Fantom is telling you this so that you do not freak if the engine runs on the hot side of 300.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My fantom 18 runs at about 280F. If the manual says it can run between 260 and 360F, than don't even worry about temps unless its under or ovr the limit. It gives a big range but n e thing inbvetween is fine. However just bcuz it says it can run up to 360, it doesn't mean to just keep on leaning it out until it hits it. That is a good way to fry ur engine. Just tune it for a little under max performance like you would n e other engine.

Around 340 here,It worried me too at first. But it seems to be OK like this? BTW this is not a lean situation, pleanty of smoke!

How is it on restarting when it's that hot? I know when my OS engines were around 260, I had a hell of a time restarting them until they cooled off. The fuel was boiling in the carb and wouldn't go into the engine.

I have trouble with hott restarts with mine and mine only runs at 280F:flamer: .
