I am running a RB Concepts TM523 engine with a high temperture OS Turbo glow plug and GEN 2 BYRONS 30% fuel what would normal operating temperture be when running and idle?:\

whats a good temp for the picco .26 maxx?

also i was wondering about an auxilary cooling fan for the engine if that would even be possible. . .cuz if you can keep the engine cooler while you are running then you can lean it out more for extra power. . .just a thought wether it be a good one or a bad one its still a thought

Temps are fairly universal, 220-260
Now about that fan---
The assumption that if the engine is cooler you can run it leaner is NOT true.

To prove this theory does not work just take your nitro engine out in the middle of winter. Your mil will run very cool, but if you lean it out enough to get your temps up you'll fry your mil because it does not have the required amount of oil to keep it lubricated.

The mil needs the correct amount of fuel and oil to run properly.

ok. .. thanx for the temp answer and also thank you for clearing up the myth about the cooling fan/leaner questoin . . .but would it be a good idea to put a fan on it to keep it cooler??????
not so you can lean it out?

a better idea than a fan, would be to fit a specialist head that aids cooling, something like an RC Nova head, like what i have on my eb4 (check the "Hopper" album on my profile).

As to temps on a revo 3.3, from what i have seen, revo's run anywhere from 220 upto 270 (ish), so long as you are in that temperature zone, you should be ok, but try to stay at 260 or below.

My 2.5 engine is happiest when it floats around 270, proving that each engine is different from another, even those of the same brand and spec. Of course, fuel has a lot to do with it aswell, mainly because of the different oil and nitro contents across the many available fuels, each one having a specific percentage of oil.
