HOW CAN I FIND OUT IF MY GXR 28 IS TO HOT
i have been runing the engine now since it was drowned but now i am convinced it is not running well but it may be unfounded
i have no temperature gun so looking for a rule of thumb way of testing

I don't know of any other way, besides the water test and it can be unreliable. The only true way to tell is to get a temp gun. $25 on ebay, I'm still convinced it should be the 2nd thing people buy after they buy their RC.........even before buying fuel.

been reading up a bit and seems my problem could be to much air in the mix and leaning air could be the cure
my question is low end screw when leaning the mixture is that less fuel or less air

you want to richen the high speed needle...thats the one that is important to set first
then you set the low speed ...to richen the mix ,you open the valve so you screw out...to lean out the mix you close the valve so you gotta screw in should be the same for the low speed needle, but that one is very touchy, usualy the factory setting will give you a good starting point.

you should go read the nitro engine tuning thread in the stickies ...lots of good info in there it will help you a lot
