ok i have a new savage x 4.6 and I'm in the process of breaking it in how do i keep the tempeture stable at 180 F through 220 F or can it go higher

It can go higher but for when your done with break in to keep temps down and to not have to the engine lean out when the tank of fuel is low there is a mod called the uni-flow tank mod which will help... but i run my nitro at a stable 250-270 and that is great for it... depends on how you like the car runnin... just always check the temps and don't let them reach like 305-320 or else your SOL

my manual said above 250 F "DANGER!" LOL i don't think my manual would steer me in the wrong direction i want my engine to have a long life :P

Ur manual might say that but if you ask some guys in this thread some will say they run in the 260-275 range....JMO

Anything under 280 is fine,as from my experience(and fun too)my buddy had a savage XL and the 5.9 would only run good at 300,go figure. He sold that to another friend and he now has twin k4.6's on his savage but the XL 5.9 is still going strong at that temp,no trouble so far and over 3 gallons through it
