Temp question....

When a diff bearing started to go bad, it ran well, but couldn't get to speed. It hit 340 and it was still running when I shut it down.

330 for me and 345 for my bros tmaxx. That was due to an air leak on both occasions.

Mine was on my engine. my Bros was on his fuel filter going to the engine.

ok just curious! would you believe my revo hit 392? it started to bog really bad after a few jumps. my friend and i had the same temp readings on different temp guages. i found what was causing the problem. between the carb and the mill it was all wet. i knew that had to be the problem. there is a crack in my carb. this motor may be ruined but if it isnt. I'm still going to replace it. this thing is so hard to keep tuned anyway.even before all this. can you guys recommend a good mill?

WOW, 392. I hope you turned the piston to BDC after it shut down. It might still live.
The Revo 2.5R is actually pretty cooperative when it comes to holding its' tune.
If you want a gutsy engine that's easy to tune, I'd go with the Sirio .18.

I've heard of ppl complaining of worrying about over heating, i guess this would give some an idea how hot a motor can get. yeah, i made sure the piston was at BDC

i took the head off and turned the motor over. put it back on, it did start again, but i shut it off quickly. i could replace the piston and sleeve and carb. but I'm jus gonna get a new mill. thanks for the info about gettin the Sirio .18.... i did have a few others in mind. opinions always help.

It's easy to get an engine that will be too much power, that's why I recommended the .18. It will absolutely outrun and outperform the stock engine, while still keeping it in a range that's controllable.

i was running my rs4 on-road and honestly was tring ot blow up the wore out .15 i had on it ,ran 30% very very lean ,and not sure what the temp was but it pegged my sons duratrax temp gauge ,all it said was HOT ,and if i am not mistaken there max heat range it 400+ then just reads hot
but it was a smoken when it finally flamed out lol
and it didnt blow up...osrocket repinched it and it was good as new lol
