Temp guns?

Hi guys, thinking about getting a temp gun (Raytec laser) Does anyone have one and what do you think of it? The lhs has one but it's $100.00! Is it worth it or should I just stay with what I have ( the kind with the wire loope that goes in the groove). Here's the link to what I'm looking at

I've heard that the loop jobs are pretty accurate, but the little sensor can eventually wear out / break when used on an offroad vehicle. The guns are a little more accurate, since they measure the IR on the plug.

Thanks Error. The sensor on my loop is showing wear but don't know if I want to spend 100 bucks on a temp gun! What do you have?

duratrash makes a handy little temp gun thats pretty accurate (i have one)

I also have the little Blue DuraTrax temp gun and it works great for $24.00 @ my LHS. The Laser guns are more accurate but can be expensive and higher matinence. I use a Snap On temp gun for autos and it was expensive ($450) and to much to lug around in my field box.

To those reffering to DuraTrax as DuraTrash.....hehe. Come on guys. Yes 5 years ago they weren't even worth talking about but DuraTrax is definitley coming up in the market and hobby in general. I had the great pleasure of playing with a DuraTrax Nitro Evader BX (1/10 buggy) this weekend and it was awesome and especially for the price. My LHS Stocks them for $250 and with a .18 O.S., 7075 Alluminum CHassis and Alluminum threaded shocks it's a great bargain. THe car was fast as hell and with a little tweaking performed great on and off road. I'm buying one next month for shizzle nizzle.

I'm with guys on the Duratrax. I just got one, and I'm surprised how accurate it is! I couldn't be happier with it, and it's only $25 at Tower Hobbies.

I'm VERY happy with mine and for $24 @ my LHS it's a great deal IMHO.

I use the one by Radio Shack that Error pointed out. Good price and easy to operate. Just the right size, too...fits in most pockets.
