Radio Shack has there IR temp thermometer on sale for $29.00. I know some people don't like the RS temp thermometer, but I have never had any problems with mine, and for $29.00 it might just be worth a try for those of you who don't have one. They are a nice little tool to help with tuning....

Speaking of Temp guns

The Racer's Choice Raytek MT2 Mini Temp Probe 69 has dropped in price significantly lately also. I paid 80 something for mine 5 months ago and know people that paid close to a 100 for thiers over a year ago. Not knocking daves suggesting just another choice for anyone in the market. X

I am using the radio shack one Dave is, and I have had no problems at all with it. My friend has the raytek and they both read the same within a degree. If I am not mistaken, I think the rs temp gun actually uses a rayek pc board. This is what I have heard. I really dont care though it seems to be right on with the Raytek.

I think I can find the head just fine without a laser pointer :D

I got the raytec and havn't had any problems.

the Rayteck one is nice, not doubt about that, but I think NC is right that the RS one uses a Rayteck board. It is a nice tool to have, especially at that price.

The radio shack temp gun is 100% a Raytek product. I took the liberty of taking mine apart, and took a pic of the board, this should put all the speculation to rest

Like I said - good enough price to buy a spare!!!!!!!!

Thanks M@xx! I always break the funky tabs and have to superglue it when I'm done. I have little patients lol

Sweet Deal

I'm putting togetter my first Nitro Car, I've already spent over $1k, glad to find such a great deal. I was originally only going to spend about $300-$400 on a RTR kit, but decited to go big, or at least bigger.
