i think i found the problem but i just want to make sure .
if the wheel hex is worn out and all it dose is just spin inside the wheel that it rides on would that cause the wheel on the opposite side not to turn also because it is slipping and the other wheel needs to turn in order for the wheel on the opposite side to turn?
 
The diff will send the power to the wheel with the least amount of traction or
in the case of a stripped wheel or wheel hex or any disconnection from the diff to the wheel, the power from the diff will go to that wheel.
