hey guys as most of you may know i'm planing on geting a x-ray xt8 and i was woundering what input you guys could put on THIS engine i've heard they're really good but i want some more opinions.

I have a friend with one in his RC8T, he loves it. It is fast as hell and can go 10+ minutes on a tank of fuel.
Another buddy is a Trinity sponsored driver, he has the full EB mod .21 in his D8 buggy. Also very fast but it was overmodded and broke the piston at 3 gallons. Trinity replaced the whole engine at no charge.
It's a great engine, just get the pipe to match it.
Run the Trinity Platinum 30% fuel in it, the needle settings they give you are dead on for this fuel. It is a good fuel. These engines run at 205F all day long....they hold their tune very well.

ok thanks for the info...what pipe would match this engine??

Big Boy pipe from trinity..
That is one of the best motors you'll ever own and the serve is fast and great if you have any problems..:first_place:
I have the EB mods.21 right now but plan on getting a "II" as soon as our season starts ..
And i'm not just saying this because i'm sponsored by them .. it's just a great motor all around .. the bottom end is insane and plenty of top end too..
I run the JP-4 pipe and get 10+ mins out of a 8ight 2.0 and running around 190-210 all day .

That JP-4 has to be choking it down. Truth is the engine makes too much power for a buggy, so it is probably a good thing.
This is the one he has on the .24, it's a mid to top pipe. He loves it.

We have heard the hype of the Big Boy but we have yet to get our hands on it..
Chad Bradley is the guy they get their info from.
He has recommended the Big Boy as well.

Well if it's choking it i'll live with it.. the motor runs like a raped ape..
i wouldn't want to much more power..
I'm going to get a big boy pipe when i order the "II" so come april i'll have more info ;)
And whos Chad Bradley?

Chad is involved with Trinity in some way... I forget if he is a racer or just rep.
I'll find out for sure tom. and post.

Exactly why I am just going for the .21 in my Truggy...the engine is that strong, anymore is a waste.

OK maybe your thinking Chad Phillips.. he works there and is the r&d guy at trinity plus a team mang.

2008 Motorama Buggy winner I beleive! "Chad Phillips" He has raced at the Hut a few times and is incredible to watch.I would like to try one of those .24 in my Jammin X1 truggy.

ok thank's for the info guy's..i'll forsure be putting this engine in my xt8 when i get it now...along with the first pipe that scrogg put up if i can aford it

Yep, got them mixed up.... I used Chad Bradley's setups on my Jammin.
You beat me to it.
On the plus side i got to see a Ex-Tech .24 with the Big Boy pipe run today on a RC8T...also got to drive it. Ultra smooth power deliivery....very fast engine....does not need modded at all IMO. The pipe looks better than it does in pics. Kinda cool looking actually. I especiallly liked the short stinger.
I still waxed his butt with my Jammin X1 pro.:D With a lowly 3 port picco .21.....

..lol nice!
yeah the pipe kinda looks likea Baseball bat..one of those red fat plastic ones from when i was a kid.
good to hear about the motor and pipe combo.. I keep looking at the bank account and it's just a phone call away from having a new motor for the up coming season ..hehe

South Carolina.....one day it's 30F outside the next it's 70F outside!
Saturday was a perfect 70 degree day to race. It was a small tight track so power was not an issue. I actuallly detuned (richened)my engine for better control!
