I recently got a TC3 and finally set it up last nite to run ......looking for suggestions on hop ups for it...electric TC3.....not looking for super racer more of a drift set up that's nuke proof....what are the weak points on this thing I need to be aware of......it's got some mods already but not alot.....
I tried the search and didn't get what I was hoping to find.....any suggestions or links to other threads along this line would be appreciated....

The front arms are one point that I can think of. A few hits or rubs and the pillow balls get out of what and start loosening up a little. Get the Carbon arms and the pillow balls from the XXX-S. They seem to have more bite.

If nothing else you should look to see if you have a full set of bearings. In the lower end kits they use a lot of bushings. This is a must.

The lower end kits also use a lot of plastic. Get a graphite upgrade kit if needed. They are on e-bay NIB for a good price. I got a kit just to have extras, Its a lot less expensive then getting everything separate.

I hate the servo mounts. I'm still looking for an alloy set. For 2 little parts they are expensive. If you find a good set, LMK. Ill make a post and see what comes about.

Threaded aluminum shocks are a worthy upgrade if you have a lower end kit or RTR.

Hope this helps.

i have ntc3 i just switch it into a slide carb any sugestion on trottle return spring set up

I'm sure someone has an idea.
Post a NEW thread on the subject.
This thread is about the Electric TC3.

On an electric, hook the spring from the positive battery post to the heat sink on the ESC. That should keep you from going out of control :D

it's monday alright I about pee'd myself once i figured this one out.....and yes this is an electric TC3...I found out saturday it's the older style w/o the droop set....the rear arms have been replaced w/ the newer ones and there's a lot of graphite already on the car...bearings everywhere I looked...and I swapped out the TX-1 ESC for my newer XRS or whatever that novak one is....and a new Epic outlaw stock (dunno how you have outlaw stock but that's what it said).....anyway I think I have th ecar fairly dialed in....any suggestions on steering servos...I had a 645MG I threw in but I think I want something a little faster.....and the steering rack design blows....I know they are really designed for smooth tracks but I run it in parking lots and streets...I got 3 rocks stuck in that thing in an hour....any way to stop that from happening?....I got drift tires coming and looking for some decent aluminum shocks....suggestions for shocks would be appreciated too....

If you are going to do the shocks do them right.
The FT are a good choice. I'm sure you can get a deal on flea-bay if you look.
If you don't have bearings in the steering rack its a worthy upgrade as well.

I haven't had any rock issues with the steering but I did see a guy at the track that mounted little soft rubber strips in his rack. One on the front and one on the back. They looked almost like tire tube rubber. They folded over the top to keep the crap out.

Ant decent mid to high speed servo should work. There isn't a lot of torque needed. You could get an extremely high torque servo and just CRUSH any rocks that get into your rack. :p:

yeah that's what happened to the last one...It's still in there and the top is flattened now......it wasn't turning and then all of a sudden BAM..it worked again.....the rubber is a good idea...I want to make something that extends down to the front of the chassis cause I think they are going into those littel sections of the chassis under the linkage from the front of the car....

well I found out why the smaller teeth spurs and pinions are not good to run outside with......I think they are 69pitch and I blew 2 of em in less than one pack last nite....stupid little twig bits........I threw in the 46 or 48 pitch set and I'll see how that does tonite....26/78....running an Epic (outlaw?) stock.......I'm trying to set it up to drift so I used a lower gear...anyone else set em up for this? what did you do to make it ass happy....
