New Era has two tanks out that does not have the primer on it. will this stop the leaning out at 1/2 tank or will it only stop the air leak at the primer? One mounts at the rear the other in the original spot.

I never even looked at the size 125 cc think I'll wait till everyone quits fighting over them on ebay.

Just do what i did when i had that problem on my tmaxx.

1.Cut the primer button off.

2.push the rest of it into the tank.

3. turn tank over and get the pc of the primer out of tank.

4.thread a screw of the proper size into the primer hole.

5.make sure to silicone the threads of the screw

I did this with my max a couple years ago when i first got it and never had another problem with the tank.

MAXX

The silicone will break down in do time then you will have an air leak and silicone in your tank. Waiting on the new one or fighting with the people on ebay:shrug: not sure what I'm going to do. My LHS will not be getting them for sometime now.

Just thought i'd offer a little help........i did my tank almost 2 years ago and still have no silicone prob yet.

Godd luck!

I would check one out - smaller tank may be more consistant all the way around. The backpressure will be less a variable at a half tank vs. a full tank in a smaller one. This could be a good thing for the Savage! I always suggest tuning the current Savage at about half a tank of fuel just because of the variance in pressure with its current tank. This should solve that. Not to mention, no primer and looks to be better construction.

Let us know how it works out for you. I may just have to get one soon

Well, I went ahead and ordered one. I'll do an update when it gets here and I test it out.

Well I got my new era tank today for the second time the first one had a crack in it from shipping. They didn’t hold back on the re shipping either the had it overnight right to me ,hell I sent it back Tuesday and by Friday my new tank was here. They could have told me sorry next time don’t try to save a 1.30 on insurance. Moral of the story don’t hesitate to buy from these guys. Even though they did not break the tank and the fact that I was trying to save a buck and not get the insurance they still replaced it.

Well I know that this thread has been dead for a while but I just got a chance to drive my savage with the new tank. I went to the track last week and tried it out 4 tanks and it held a consistent temp no more leaning out at ½ tank.

But there was one thing I learned (other than the tank) driving at the track vs. the backyard is two different things. I think I need more practice at the track hell my GF did better than me. Do you go over the barricades or around? hehe
