I have stripped 5 gear so far. I'm running out of options, could it be my motor reving to fast? It doesn't sound like its at a high rev at all, it will drive all day long until i floor it then i hear creak pop and the gears get all gnawed up and there are no longer teeth on the spur gear. Has this happened to anyone before? And if you know a solution it would greatly be appreciated.:\

It sounds like your mesh is too loose.
When you install a new one, loosen the engine mounts, put a strip of printer paper between the spur and clutch bell gears and press the engine tightly against the spur while you lock it back down. Pull out the strip of paper, and you will have a perfect mesh.

+1. Rolex is right, Your mesh sounds like it is way off, I had this problem. IMO dont think about going to any metal spur until you do a good job of getting your mesh right. You can seriously f' up your tranny with metal gears. Thats y OEM spur gears are so cheap, because they are made to break, vs the tranny internals.

Thanks for the replies, Next time I get a new gear I'll buy a few of them in case and try this. Thanks Again.
