hey guys I'm new to the site and i had a question about my greatly modified t maxx. it was running great and the guys at the shop looked at the tranny and dumped a ton of oil into it and now its stopped shifting. any advice on whats wrong?

Traxxas tranys don't use oil they are dry the oil is preventing the shift remove the oil and clean it out.

if there is a problem with the trany i would hold that idiot accountable!

if it was running great then why did you take it to him anyway?

pull the tranny and clean the oil out. there is usually a sticker right on them that says do not oil

:hehe::hehe: I dont think that HS will be in business long. What a Friggin IDIOT!!

what a tool!

That's not good.
I'm not gonna assume it's a hobby shop, because it only says "the guys at the shop".....but it wouldn't suprise me if it was a hobby shop.

I would demand a new trans and after they give it to me he would get a black eye as my thanks to him FIND A NEW H.S.

yeah they arent in business anymore and I've taken it apart many times to clean it out and still no shift. any other suggestions??

i've had to adjust mine, it would only stay in low gear and my rpms were good. there is a screw inside the tranny that adjust's your shift point, you need to use a small allen wrench (and a good head light) to find it, start making slight adjustments, and see if that helps it shift. might take a few times to get it perfect.

I've tried adjusting the shift point and still nothing. i think I'm going to take apart the tranny again to see if i can dry it out even more

It could also be a loose or oily slipper clutch, which can mask the sound of a 1-2 shift.
I've bought the grey trannies for 20 bucks on ebay before, but they're forward only.

Hey how did u fix it? I have the same problem so maybe u can tell me thx!
