Newbie question. I am working on a my son's friend's T-Maxx with a Pico .21 motor. It appears that 3 of the four motor mounting bolt holes are stripped which as you can guess does not allow for proper adjustment of the spur gear etc. Can someone tell me if the base motor plate is the same as the the stock 2.5 Traxxas plate? Or does it use something different.

In addition what is the out of the box reference points for the Low and High speed needles and is the Traxxas #3232x glow plug good with this motor??

Replies are much appreciated and needed as I am just getting started with the hobby.

Welcome welcome. I have a feeling the mount is the same as for a picco .26 maxx. This is the mount it will be if its not the stock mount. You should be able to compare the mount on the motor to this photo for the answer to your question. What color is the engine head?

The Picco .21 will not fit the stock Traxxas mount, you would need the above linked to mount.

You can get by temporarily by using nylock nuts and longer screws at the stripped mounting tab holes.

Both of your replies help a lot!!! I will take a closer look upon full removal tomorrow. The head on the motor is Purple.

Snookman I will probably go the route you suggested as I found a couple of M3x20 allen head screws at work but did not have the nuts to fit. I will see if Atlanta hobby or Hobbytown in Cumming have them.
