T-Maxx- Value for Money

Personally, I think they are seeing the run that the Savage is making on the number one slot for MT and are back pedalling. I think they better get their stuff wired or they make get dethroned.

They are most definatly on thier way to getting dethroned, they needed to do more than the engine change, and extended suspension. They needed to listen to the customers and address what was breaking most often.

Concur there. I also think that they should have come up with a .21 powered Maxx vice the hopped up .15 that they came out with. So far, my Fantom powered T-Maxx has crushed two 2.5 T-Maxxes and kept pace with one stock Savage.

To be honest I was kind of skeptical of the Savage's "chassis" design. I thought the chassis plate design that the T-Maxx used and several other RCs use was the best way. After some time driving my Savage and looking at it with my engineering eyes and mind, I think HPI came up with an excellent idea. The Savage chassis combines the strengths of a truss structure with a box beam. Basically making a very solid strong platform to hang everything off of.

But here I go on about a non TRAXXAS product. The current version of the T-Maxx is not what I had hoped for. I'll stick with the one I have or build one up from aftermarket parts. I'm kind of liking Eddy and Chris's CyberMaxx project.

ok, i'm now swaying towards a savage because of the size, power and the good things i'v been hearing about it. What do u guys think and bout it. What better ?

KyoUltima, SkyMaxx has any information you'd ever need. Just send him a PM and I'm sure he'd be glad to PM you with all of his opinions. Sky owns a Savage and a T-Maxx.

As for my opinion on the matter, Savage all the way! The savage seems to be the people's choice. Lots of messageboards that Have poll's on the big battle-savage vs. tmaxx come out with the same results Savage is better. Banned Rc, RCMT, RCNT, sites like that. The only bad thing I've heard about the savage was the weak pull starter. But dont worry, the PS problem was only in earlier production Savages, HPI has now fixed the problem and its all good now.

As for your choice, both trucks seem to be really good. I'm sure either truck will suit your needs fine. I'm also in the market for a monster truck. I have decided on the Savage, but thats just me. Good luck on your choice!

SilentHunterKellen is correct. I do have one of each. There are a few members of this forum that have one of each. To a one, we will tell you that we love both trucks. We will also tell you that each has its strengths and weaknesses. BUT I think the list of weaknesses for the Savage is much shorter than it is for the T-Maxx.

I'll be happy to share what I know as fact and what I hold as opinion. You can have that here (which may take some space and time--to no one's surprise) or you can hit me in the PM land or chat via AIM or Yahoo (I have both). Let me know or ask your questions and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

As for my personal preference, I'll say this...if at the time of my initial purchase both T-Maxx and Savage had been available, I would currently only have a Savage and about $2000 of extra spending money to hop it up or buy another MT with.
