the 2.5 t-maxx is kinda hard to start,,,,,,,,idles irratically and is extremly difficult to start when its hot, it has to be cooled down before it will restart. what am i supposed to do besides bash it with a hammer?. the carb is now at manufacturer settings.:surrender

I have to agree. Sounds like you have an air leak or worn engine. seal the carb and back plate, and check the tank for air leaks, usually in the lid. If your fuel line is old replace it, if you have a fuel filter, and you should, check the seal on it too.

piston/sleeve?

how do i check the piston sleeve ?? by compression I'm assuming. but what kinda compression tester is neded? what should the compression be on this engine?

Just take it out and turn the flywheel slowly by hand. It shouldn't be easy to turn. You should feel pressure building until it sort of pops over at the top and goes on its own. Compare it to driving a long screw into wood with a regular screw driver.
