I found the THS pipe to be utter garbage and was thinking about going back to the stock plastic pipe. Will the stock pipe work ok with the picco .26? Will it flow enough? Any other recommendations?

just curious why do you think the ths pipe is garbage? and did you use the one specifically for the tmaxx? the stock pipe should work but it will be very restrictive.

Yes this is the one for the t maxx. The header spring broke in the first 5 minutes of running so I had to modify it to be held on with screws. After break in I'm trying to tune it and utterly failing for no apparent reason (running way lean at the break in needle settings) when I notice that the header to muffler springs are very loose and the gasket is leaking. I take the springs off and the gasket is falling apart, I'm guessing either from fuel or WD-40.

So all in all after about 6 tanks all of the hardware and gaskets are completely worn out. I wasted $50 on this POS. Go THS.

I run the Resonator pipe on my Picco. It runs well, but I think an 8th scale pipe would be more fit to the size of the engine.

res. over stk

i,m also running the resonator with picco .26 and it's an improvement over stock but i think theres room for power gains with another, if i find it- i'll post

Can I ask why you don't like the THS? I've run THS pipes on a couple engines and was pleased with them. I did not necessarily compare it to anything else but I didn't notice any undesireable characteristics. Which model THS do you have now?

As far as using the stock plastic pipe... I wouldn't. That pipe is sized for the 2.5 and even though it's used with the 3.3 that's still a big difference from a .26 engine. I would try something else that is designed for big block engines.

Its that one. As I said earlier in the thread everything except the muffler, header, and mounting wire was either broken or completely worn out in a very short amount of time. I modified the header to mount with screws instead of the spring and I put the blue traxxas exhaust coupler between the header and muffler so I am no longer looking for a new pipe. The only weak point now is the gasket that seals the header to the engine and if it fails again I can get a direct fit (mounts the same as the traxxas header without that POS gasket) header from THS that will completely solve the problem.

I haven't ran it yet but at the moment my only complaint is that these things required fixing to begin with.
