Okay to start off I have a t-maxx 2.5r and when I let off the throttle it stalls and is hard to start what do I do.

Does it stutter when you give it small amounts of throttle?

My first guess would be your idle setting. The carb may be closing too much when you let of the gas therefor choking the engine of fuel and causing it to stall.

My next guess would be a rich LSN. If it stutters when you try to give it small amounts of throttle this would be something to look at possibly.

Your first guess was rite when I hit the brakes it is choking the carb causing it to stall (call the lhs). So this is my next question how do I adjust it so it dosen't choke the motor I mean the linkage, cause when I hit the brake it closes the gap even more then when it is a rest so how do I make it so it doesen't.

adjust the carb opening w/ the idle screw-located on back of carb-between the head and the carb-its angled towards what would be the passenger side of the truck-lil hard to find but its there-u only need a 1mm gap between the carb body and slide valve-bout the thickness of a matchbook-reset the other needles to factory specs-high speed needle(where the fuel line enters) 4 turns out and the low speed-traxxas says keep it flush w/ the slide valve(the little circle) right around the edge of the low speed needle-but i find alil richer keeps it running smoothly.www.traxxas.com has instructions on their website-right side where it says factory needle settings. hope this helps.

I messes with it but what I am saying is the truck is idleing and then I hit the brakes the slide closes even more and my lhs said adjust it but how would I go along doing that.

Make sure the trim knob is set to zero for the throttle.
Take off the air filter so you can look into the carb.
Hold the Tx trigger in the full brake position, and adjust the idle screw till you have the proper opening inside the carb.

Pull off the air filter and look down the carb. when you hit the brakes the carb should ALMOST close you need like a 2 mm opening. EVEN when you are applying the brakes.
The adjust ment should be part #5241 (if the pic works). If the pic doesn't work... there is 3 flat-head screws on the carb.
The one on the top that has the fuel line going into it is the High Speed Needle (HSN).
The one where the throttle linkage hooks up is the Low Speed Needle (LSN).
There is one more on the body of the carb. If you tighten it it will raise your idle speed. Again look down the carb when adjusting it.

yeah clean it out-by doing this you also become familer with the carb functions-rolex has the right idea-disconnect the whole servo horn-but make sure you adjust the idle screw b4 anything else-make sure it doesn't close all the way-then reconnect the servo horn w/ trims zero'd out and adjust the collars(metal things with setscrews) to zero play-make sure their tight to.

Sorry about the delay went hunting over the weekend but I cleaned it friday but there still is something there I will drive it and see how it does and get back with you, I did solve the engine chocking out.
