Hi everyone, I am new to RC (couple months, 1 blown 3.3) and this site, just want to say lots of great info here. I have a T Maxx 4908 upgrades are OS .21 tm, RPM true track, RPM bumper's, Alum bulks front & rear and revo steering servo. I have just been bashing it so far, but the local track has Monster truck class and I would like to try it out (if I like racing maybe try 1\8 buggy). When I got my T Maxx I knew nothing and my 2 best buds researched and got revos, as far as I can tell they will out handle me in ever way on the track. So my question is what can I do to make my T Maxx hang on the track (if possible) ?

Thank you all in advance Shawn

Go with 50 weight shock oil, lower it to an 'arms level stance', and take off some weight if possible (ez-start, reverse, etc). Then get some quality 1/2 inch offset truggy wheels/tires and 17mm adaptors. Maximizer makes composite adaptors that are cheap and work great. The truggy wheels will be narrower than a 40 series and will help alot. ;)

Thanks for the tips and I have already put 50 wt oil in the shocks, and waiting till new engine is broke in then off ez start and on pull start. Will start hunting for wheels and tires soon... Shawn

the easiest way to lower it is to use small zip ties around 3-4 coils on shock springs

I wouldn't recommend this. If the suspension squats and the pressure is taken off of the spring retainer, it could come off. Not the most likely thing to happen, but definitely not the way you wanna lose a race. There's aftermarket springs to suit every need for Maxx's.
