If thats it, i duno, it still can make a difference. Solder on some more wire or attach more some how.

Jon2 your post are confusing. Please read what you wrote before you post.

Never said your post didn't help him out. Read my post again. Read what you just posted to me and tell me its correct. Oh yes YOU HAVE PM.

I can't read it. It is in all caps. J/K
Well I thought you posted is for a different reason. I know i have a spelling problem. I'am trying to correct it. Sorry. No it is not correct.

LazyDave,
Jon2 is a great member, doesn't say bullshit. He posts good replys.

Keep the sarcasm down. :)

Thanks SR! ALways a friend!

LD you have my message so now we both understand. Lets work on it so we can work on helping others!!

Jon2

No, It was said by me because I dont like sarcasm and really Jon didnt do a thing. Thats why I said it...

How does LDLD, LazyDaveLearningDisability involve you. I’m confused?
You know what I apologies to everyone for everything I done. I just need to keep my big mouth shut some times.

No, no. Your taking what we said out of proportion. I told you to just chill out on the sarcasm on someone who really doesn't post b/s or confusion. It was you I said. It was the truth and I told it. Fair enough.

guys, guys lets get back to the subject!

I don't this to be a thread where everyone gets into a big fight!

If you've ripped off a small piece of the antenna, that would not likely cause that much of a problem. However, there's the possibility that there is another break in the wire, or it was pulled loose from the circuit board.

i am almost positive that the wire did not break in any other place, the spot it broke was the part that was squished in between the reciever box housing and the rubber thing that partly sticks out of the rx itself. Do you think i should replace it, or will it not be worth it if i only run it within 500 feet, at most, pkus i just bought a failsafe from rcmaxpower on ebay. Any relation to the one in the forum?

I thought the inch and a half that broke off was at the end. If it broke off near the receiver, that's a definate problem. You need to get another piece from the LHS and solder it to the Rx board.
Don't even think of running within a limited range, since a shorter antenna is also subject to more outside interference.
If it picks up a signal from vibration, or an illegal CB radio, not even your failsafe will help you.

sounds like you got it pinched. This may have caused a break in that line. They do sell the replacement atenna wire. OR you can upgrade your radio system. up to you!!

What I was going to do was re-solder the rest of the antenna back onto the rx board the way it says in this article
http://www.misbehavin-rc.com/pit-lane/receiver-repair/g-receiver-repair.asp

Would this be okay?

The link wouldn't open for me.
If you plan to resolder to the receiver, do it with a new wire. The length of the wire is specific to the frequency. Not something you want to take chances with.

Would the fail-safe take care of this? I do not think there would be any interference since where i live isn't exactly the center of nitro r/c if you know what i mean!

sorry the link is the wrong one try this

That one wouldn't open either.
You only need a length of wire about the same gauge as you have. Try Radio Shack if there's one near you.
My Maxx is out in the trunk of the car, and it's raining right now, but wait for someone else here to give you the measured length of wire you will need. If you don't get a response on it shortly, start a new thread asking about antenna length. Also include if it's AM or FM, and if it's 27 or 75Mhz. You'll get your info.
