whats up fellow bashers, just wondering if anyone can tell me if the primary shafts are the same size on 2.5r and 3.3 trannys.

They are the same on the 2.5R/4902 and 4909 TMaxx models (5mm diameter)
The 4908 and 4907 models use a 6mm shaft.

that sucks i won some center shafts and better brake setup in an auction,(along with other items)but i guess they wont wrk on my tranny, its a grey one with foc and optidrive removed so its gotta be a 2.5r s..t......thanx snook ur input is always appreciated.

anyone ever mod this? i got the revo spec diffs which now i believe is a 6mm pinion and 5mm to the axles, but at the tranny its back to a 5mm like snook said,so am i better off just buying the dogbone i need for the cups that i have or modify the 3.3 stuff thats gunna show up in my mailbox?....i do like the way that the 3.3 disk brake attaches to the driveline though whould be nice to incorporate it,the old style always pops off sideways once and a while and gets jamed pretty good.lol

Just keep your 5mm trany yokes, cut the new shafts down to fit & put a washer under the E~clips.
You will need to file the chassis a little for the longer pins to clear.

You could've gotten a whole brand new 4907/4908 trans for 20-30 bucks.
I probably got lucky on mine, it was 16 bucks delivered.

i actually have the extended traxxas chassis on my truck so no cutting would be required ,its just a matter of installing those pins on the yoke for the new style brake, how about a 6mm shaft from the other tranny will that fit my 2.5r tranny, looking for cost efective since i am now layed off from work for the season and pinching pennies

Since you have the extended chassis and the FOC, just purchase the primary shaft (#5394) and the 4908/7 spec brake setup and center shafts you won will fit.

so the #5394 shaft is the primary for a 3.3 with the only difference being that it accepts 6mm yokes ,or do i need the bearings as well that the shaft rides on being that the shaft is thicker,
