t-maxx monster truck

hi everyone any advice tips on the t-maxx 2.5 all welcomed thanks dazza mostly my truck seems to run in first gear for far to long before going into second i've tried adjusting it but no luck would it be advisable to replace gears or strip it down and clean it maybe soaking all parts in some old nitro fuel?

The best tip I could give you is to go through the T-Maxx forum and just read, read, read. The maxx is an older platform and there is a ton of info and tips in the maxx forum.

Watch them temps!!!

I purchased a used tmaxx 2.5 8 months ago & burned up a new motor in 2 gallons! It only got hot(above 250-300)several times & i always shut it down immediately!! next problem i had was my tank lid started leaking pretty bad. So make sure you dont have any leaks & watch those temps!!!!!!!!!! PS. Just purchased another engine on ebay hope this one will last longer!!!! CDROM out:

the best thing to do is just read the manual and i founf out that if u put rpm arms and a traxxas r race pipe on it it all the power u will need

Until you see a 3.3. That's all the power you need until you see one with a picco.

i just did that blew up my .18 and went to the 3.3 now if i seen a picco i prbly would want it

I would get rid of second gear....I have a 2.5 maxx that i ran just first gear in it i had a two speed tranny sitting around dropped it in and i hate having 2 speed... Fun on top end just not my style of driving....

You like a 20mph maxx? Never thought I'd hear someone like a single speed T Maxx. Probably be cool in smaller spaces.
