t maxx help!

Ok well this just started happening it ran fine before, I just bought truck used about 2 weeks ago, its a 4908 t maxx, anyways.. When first driving it today it seemed fine then after maybe 15 min when I would turn the wheels and try to accelerate it either wouldn't move or move very slow, but if I stop and don't touch the wheel and nail it it goes like a bat out of ****.

What's wrong?

Oh yeah, if you have 4 aa batteries, get 16 and change them often. Also consider getting a 5 cell hump pack. It will triple your run time and wake up your servos with 6 volts instead of 4.8 volts.

Well I have someone on another forum telling me that something is binding.. He said that my t maxx should roll freely forward like a model car or something.. Well it does roll but not like a model car or something with free turning wheels.. It takes some force to push it.. I can't just push it and it roll away lol.. Is he right? Is something wrong?

I think hes wrong, 4aa's dont last long in these trucks. buy a hump pack.. you wont regret it.

Just to make sure everyone understands what I'm trying to explain (sorry the more I think about it I don't think it can be batts.)

The past 3 times the truck has been run, after about 15 minutes of running good it will start to not want to move. I can be sitting still idleing and hammer it and it will take off an run good or I can sit still and crank the wheel and hammer it and it will either rev, or slowly go in a circle or turn.. Keep in mind I'm holding the throttle all the way back and it barely moves lf the wheel is turned.. But if I don't touch the wheel it takes off good.

Please help, I hope its not messed up already...

I'm a little confused on your description there. ("or slowly go in a circle or turn") Going in a circle is turning. It sounds like the steering is taking the electricity away from the throttle servo, causing it to not pull the throttle. ("can sit still and crank the wheel and hammer it and it will either rev").....How high is it revving? Alot or a little.

Yeah I don't think it has enough juice in the batteries to turn it and pull the throttle because I took the air cleaner off and pulled the throttled and it opened the carb all the way, but if I crank the wheel then pull the throttle it only opens about 1/4-1/2 of the way.

I'd agree on the battery theory too. Also, how good do the wheels turn? Your pillow ball caps may be too tight, causing a big power draw on the batteries. With a 5 cell hump pack and the stock servo(2070), the wheels should turn lock to lock with the truck on the ground. A little slow, but it should do it. They should turn lock to lock with the front end off the ground just about as fast as the servo can move.

check the wires for any cuts or damage as i had a similar problem before i moved to the hump pack and changed the wires to remove the bad connection i had, check the batteries predator these guys know a lot and have helped me out in the past, i went through batteries like nothing on earth before i got my hump pack and now it makes a hell of a difference, change all the batteries and check for damaged wires as a 5 min job might just do the trick, good luck and keep us posted on how you get on:
