I got it used on ebay. I think it is a first Gen but I am not to sure. It came without an engine and I put a TRX PRO .15 on it. The tranny is black. I am have problems getting it tuned properly I think the carburetor is screwed up. The only way to adjust the idle speed is the throttle trim because the needle for the adjustment doesn't do anything. The screw fits in a little slot but it will still turn all the way closed no matter how it is adjusted. If it is to tight it won't move at all obviously. I had it out the other day and it died under full throttle or sometimes right before it shifted to 2nd gear. Does anyone have experience with this engine? I am thinking about upgrading it but I want to know which one I have before doing that. How do I know if I have a wide maxx? On the new maxx is the opti drive necessary if i wanted to upgrade mine to a 2.5 or 2.5r what would be required to upgrade?

Thanks

You don't have the idle screw in properly. There's a slot that it fits into on the part of the carb that opens and closes. Get that back together right and then we'll help you to get 'er tuned in.

I got the idle screw in right went out and ran it and now it stalls when i go from WOT to brake. It was stalling at WOT from a stop so I increased the low speed need to help throttle response and keep it from stalling during accel. I increased the high speed need to correct stalling right before 2nd gear shift point. Now it dies when I hit the brakes going from WOT. Any ideas?

Idle screw needs turned up. With the brakes applied(tx and rx on, engine off), set the gap to around 1mm. Start it and adjust as needed to fine tune it.
