Hi I am new.I just got a used T-Maxx off Ebay, and when i try to start it it starts up and goes full throttle RPM skyrockets then it shuts off and i really have no idea where I should start.
So I checked a Video on youtube of a T-maxx idling, and I saw that my throttle is open, so I backed it down with my Tx adjustment and I will give it a go today.
other then that I think I am all good.
Did you check your needle setings on your carb??? Reset them back to factory before you start..
Also take off the air filter and look inside the carb. Turn on the electronics on the radio then the truck and make sure that the slide inside the carb is almost closed. There should be a small gap on one side.
DO THIS FIRST!!! You don't want to start the truck until you know what is going on. You should adjust your trim settings on your radio to center. Your throtle trim will not adjust the servo enough to send your revs that high...
Are you runnin a 3.3 cause when my cluth spring went out on mine it did the same thing if it still runs ft take off your clutchbell and check the spring around the shoes Hope that helps
Well I checked the throttle servo and it was on a angle so I unscrewed the arm adjusted the servo to 0 and put it back on sitting at 90degrees. for what ever reason the guy before me had it set up like this but I got it running I just have to fine tune it and get some more fuel I had very little.
