Hey Dom,

Well, it's pretty apparent from many of my posts here that I'm a Maxx fanatic but I'm only intrested in Honesty and a minimum of bias and BS.

Of all the various "Genres" of hobbies that I enjoy, I've never seen some much bias as I have with Rc Mags. Not to mention that they're often vague as hell when they reviews things in general. Your truly need to learn to read between the lines with RC mags IMO and that of many I've spoken with over the years.

Starting - Uuuh yeah....a pullstart on a big bore versus an Ez-start on a .15.

Top Speed - The THunder Tiger .21 in the MGT made specifically for Associated is ported for more low end and mid range. The 2.5 is mean ass power plant for a .15 when it's running right and the MGT is an 1/8th scale that weighs allot more.

Climbing - Uuuuhh I think they're full of chit, my buddies stock MGT will out climb any Stock 2.5 maxx any day.

Jumping - A tie, How do they define eerr quantify jumping comparison? I'd imagine a stock MGT would be allot more durable then a stock Maxx for Jumping.

Drag Race - No suprise their

Track Attitude - LOL, WTF is their idea of "Track Attitude"??

Tug 0' War - Uuuhhh I'm sure the 2.5 can holds it's own but I think they're again full of chit. The 2.5 would overheat and burn up before it lost a real Tug of war against that .21. That .21 TT engine has ALLOT more torque from porting and displacement then the 2.5. The 2.5 is really just a top end engine like the mean Sirio .18.

Maxx's kick ass when you drop $500+ in them and stock Maxx's can be a ton of fun but I'd give the award to the MGT any day overall.

IMHO RCCA is completely biased to the Maxx and it will always win. How about including the Savage SS or 25 RTR in the mix??? No, it's left out. How about comparing the MGT to the Savage?? No, caus the T-Maxx has to win the MT shootouts EVERY FRICKIN TIME!!!

I'm not renewing my subscription.

i am also confused as to why they dont use a savage.some of the things here do seem a bit off unless the ramp was like 1 foot and it counts if the guy drving one was better than the other the only way to really judge is to try it yourself

for jumping it said they looked at the controlability in the air while it was landing and controlability right after the landing for the jumping

I agree that most magazines are biased. You really do need to learn to read between the lines. None the less they are a great source of information. Mainly upgrade parts available, and tech tips. If nothing else they make for fun reading. I have been reading Xtreme RC for a while now and like them just as much or more that RC Nitro, especially since they put the babes in there.

r/c cars are based more on personal preferences than acual traits of the vehicles tested, if the guy like the feel of the MGT whilee jumping it, hed say the MGT was better, but someone else might not have liked the MGT and gone for the maxx....

the truth is there is no real "shootouts" that grade performance of vehicles compared to other vehicles, now dynos and numbers (things that can be proved or verified) are things that can have shootouts over.

I think all those "shootouts" are based on someones opinion. I want to know how they are drawing thier conclusions. Is there a book? I have the Tmaxx and the MGT. I do like my MGT more BUT I can honestly say that the MAXX is much faster than the MGT stock. That lil 2.5 is just a fast mill . The tt21 is a great mill but having mine ported is the only way I get to beat the 2.5 . My MGT is geared 15/52. using Tmaxx size tires. I tried using my MGT stock tires on the maxx..it was a joke. The Maxx 2.5 doesn't have the raw torque the TT21 has. Don't get me wrong though, I still have lots of fun playing with the Maxx. I think that each bashes in his own way so you really can't compare durability. No TWO people are going to run the same. NO WAY!

Shootout? Lol! Those are only cool with a buddy on any given day.

How can anyone argue that lighter will always be faster, agile, and handle better?

Me. My Old RC 10 electric was pretty damn fast but it handled like crap. MY MGT is big 12lbs and it handles great. The Power is now ported but it was strong before it was done. As far as AGILE. Ummm anything going 55mph requires some suspension tuning or additions even.
