Finally got my 3.3 broken in runs great idles great no motor problems. But i noticed on my eight tank through it it wasn't shifting to second. Also noticed the spur gear will turn counter clockwise if turned enough but will stop then gets tighter i guess you would say, when before you couldn't. i guess my question is is it just me? Or trans problem or just lean it out to shift. i didnt have to lean it out as they say to if it doesn't shift on what your 5 tank. it shifted fine but as i have heard it takes more than 5 tanks. Could it jus be breaking in more and needs more tunning?

You may need to bring your idle down some. or maybe richen lsn to stop spur from spinning and on the tranny not shifting i would adjust the shift point screw in will shift sooner out will shift later

so no internal trans problems? its ok for spur to go counter clockwise if manually done? i noticed after breaking it in motor had moved some because the spur and clutch bell were a lil tighter so will have to adjust that as well i even put locktite on motor screws lol. And i did notice the spur gear kept moving or jittering on idle. The idle seemed fine i can adjust that to see as well. gotta wait for all this kansas jus got 14 inches of snow but week before was 65 haha kansas for ya lol.

No it isnt gonna be internal problems. if reverse is installed the spur will spin either way it doesn't actually start moving anything until the hook in the forward gear catches at the right rmp. If i were you and you dont "need" reverse i would put a forward only kit in it

well in that case its perfectly normal its spining backwards bc the clutch on the motor is trying to engage but just puts a little force to the spur and releases which will make the spur spin the wrong way. hold the truck still and put a bind on your tranny by turning the spur not a big bind tho let it go and it will spin the wrong way

Ok makes sense truck is on a stand so maybe thats why. i noticed it cuz the spur mesh was tighter and jus messing with it. Also i bought integy spring set and put hard all the way around and still front end raises and rear sags down i know i could do wheelies with new motor but what am i doing wrong. should i put the extra hards on rear or what.

on the tranny not shifting i would adjust the shift point screw in will shift sooner out will shift later

In (clockwise) will result in a later shift. Out (Counter clockwise) for an earlier shift.

Make sure you slipper is adjusted properly before adjusting the shift point. Too loose and it will not shift. When new, the slipper has a habit of loosening up during break-in.

The slipper was loose after break in i did tighten it. Also how much should i tighten it everytime i look up threads for it there talking about the spring and i dont have one jus lock nut not enough length for a spring.

The 3.3 spec Maxx and Revo do not use the coiled compression spring, Just the Belleville spring washers against the spur bearing.
The adjustment should be tight enough to when you hold the shaft with a wrench; it is difficult to turn the spur with your fingers. It should put indents in your fingers when tight enough.

thanks snook man....before i jus tighten it all the way then backed off 1/16th of a turn i know on the spring its wat 1/8th 1/4 turn so i jus guestimated lol but ya it was very loose which is now that i think about what you said is why it wasn't shifting cuz it was to loose.

Usually when the slipper starts to slip, it takes about 1/16th of a turn to correct it. Never tighten this style of slipper all the way down, you can easily break the pressure plate doing that.
