I was watching some videos on youtube today and someone had commented on a video about the T-maxx 3.3 already being waterproof? Is this true?

There is a mud hole out back where I run my Clodbusters. It's not deep, maybe a half inch of water and an inch of mud. And the ditch that I jump across has a few inches of water in it right now. It's normaly dry in the summer months.

I read the owners manual and it of course says to not get them wet, muddy, dirty, or have any fun with them what so ever. Like all manuals do. But I didnt read anything about waterproof servos or raido equipment.

Just thought I'd ask before I go drop her in the mud. She should be here tomorrow - so says the fedx tracking thingy.

If I can't just spray her off with the hose like I do my Clods I'll take it a little easy with her.

Thanks for the fast reply. I'll start looking for some Waterproof servos then.

Thanks for the links. Hell for 11 bucks I'll snag the box as well. Now to pry the debit card away from the wife.

Meh. After a short talk ( I dont think I got a word in at all) with the old lady.. I guess I'm not going anywhere near the mud hole with it... She said for what it costs It would just be stupid to treat it like that. I got 3 electrics and 4 boxes of clod parts if I wana go muddin. So since I dont want to sleep on the couch I guess I'll just keep her dry. I'm gona go out to the garage and do some work before I get stuck doin the dishes or something.

balloon the servo and rtv the reciever box. simple as that. just don't let water get in the engine one good blob and your done.

I recently tested the waters with my 3.3 and almost made some very expensive mistakes. It landed, guts down, no shell, in about 3 inches of water. The only thing I broke was the rx. I quickly pulled it apart, wd-40d the hell out of everything and aired it out. Mine runs great now but I will be staying away from water.

The servos are really ez to water proof just a couple of bucks if you don't want to take them apart.

Get some plasti- dip ( you know the stuff you buy at a hardware store or walmart buy the tool section. You dip your tool handles in it to put a rubber coating on them.)

Take your servos out and hold them by the wires and just dip. Dip untill you hit the wire about a half inch on the wire.

Let sit for a min. And dip again if you want. Then take an exacto knife and cut out around the servo gear. For a little more protection you can get a small o-ring and put it on before you put your servo arm back on.

Now i havn't done this myself but i have watched it. And it seems to work really good . I think there might be some youtube vids on it . Heres one about 9 mins is the servo one in plasti-dip.
Hope this helps.....
