Hello everyone I recently bought a t maxx with a 3.3 motor but the transmission is a 2.5. The transmission messed up the other day which was a gear I'm guessing was the problem. I ordered a 3.3 transmission that has the foward only conversion in it. I would just like to know what you have to do to install that transmission I've read that you have to get new center shafts and trim the chassis a little to make it fit. Then I've read that you don't have to do that so I would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me what I need to make it work. I'm new to this so I don't really know what to do. And also about the optidrive thing, is it required with a transmission that is forward only?

The Opti-driveis only for reverse. Even if you were keeping reverse, I'd dump it.
I doubt you would have to do any chassis mods. I think the difference is if you are using the new extended wheelbase chassis. And I'm still not too sure there's any difference.

Ok thank you, so I don't need the 3.3 center drive shafts to make the 3.3 transmission work in the 2.5 frame?

Shouldn't. Unless the 3.3 shafts are beefier. I can't say for certain, because I've never tried it.

Ok I've read that they are 6mm instead of 5mm so I guess there will be some modification with the 3.3 shafts.

You mostly likely did need to upgrade the transmission, since the 3.3 is much more powerful and the transmission designed for it will be much tougher, however driveshafts will most likely be the same.
