Is it possable to fit the revo style tmaxx 3.3 trans into the earlier tmaxx 2.5,
if it does go in are there any tricks along the way I need to know about.

Thanks.

The trannys have the same bolt pattern and alignment. The Grey 3.3 Transmission will fit on a 2.5 chassis, they are the same.

You will have to re-gear though for the different spur gear however.

The gray tranny will fit, but the center shafts won't. The outputs of the 3.3's tranny are 6mm vs the black tranny's 5mm. Also, the 3.3's shafts stick out further. I have heard of others doing this, and they needed to change to the 3.3 shafts and brakes. Going with the 4908's and then trimming the shaft to fit. I believe they also had a problem where the front center shaft would hit the chassis and it required a little Dremel work.

Don't take what I said as gospel, I'm just going by memory, reading some posts on the Traxxas forum. Also, I have a new 4908 and 4910 trans to compare in my hands. I measured the shafts with calipers, they are 6mm and 5mm respectively and also longer on the 4908.

Also, the gear ratios are different. The speed portion of this chart is not accurate. I don't know how to get the calculations correct for this, but the gears are numbers straight from the parts.
