I've recently bought a second hand T-Maxx 2.5R and have noticed that when it's stationery at idle it wants to lurch forward, this seems to get better the hotter the engine gets. I read somewhere that this is caused by the forward/reverse gear set up. Is this the case and is there a practical solution apart from removing the reverse gear?

Thanks

Hi James welcome to RCNT. The problem you decribe is very normal for the T-Maxx with reverse. There is a small clutch inside of the transmission that engages at fairly low rpm and causes that. You can do a forward only conversion for about $15. Here is a link to Tower Hobbies with what will fix you up.

Many thanks for the help frickenjoey. It's just a shame that it can't be fixed without removing reverse, who wants to go backwards anyway!

It was the best thing I ever did for my T-Maxx other than the .26 Picco Maxx. It is a world of difference. Much stronger too.....go for it!
