I just got my t maxx 2.5 together after about 3 years of it sitting lol. i got everything ready to go and i tried to start it. It started up but the idle was crazy high ( it actually scared me lmfao ) so i tried to lower the idle but it didnt do anything. i didnt let it run like that for more than 4 seconds because i know thats not good for it. but I'm not sure why it is doin that. is it because my fuel is old? or is there something else wrong?

Take off your air cleaner and look down into the carb. Now actuate your throttle, is your slide opening and closing all the way?
Your slide is probably gummed up (yea old fuel)

This happened to me just last night. The "old fuel" idea is a great thing to check. Give her a good cleaning. Another thing you could check is, I noticed my horn on my throttle servo was off center. When I started it, it idled well for about 10 seconds, then kicked right up to a scream!!! It was scary man. My throttle trim was all the way counter-clockwise on the radio. Don't start your engine, just turn on the truck and radio. Let the servo center itself.make sure your radio throttle trim is at 0. Center the servo horn. Should be good to go. Hope this helps...:\
