I'm loving the hell out of my new 4.6 X, awesome torque, awesome power, awesome acceleration, not so awesome top end. I'm not really wanting to rework the bell and spur gear because I love the bottom end the truck has. It just hits second, and 10 feet later it's reving it's guts out. Should I switch to a 3 speed, or does HPI make a taller second gear for the 2 speed?

don't think they make a taller 2 speed. Funny it's reving so high so soon. I know mine will rev like crazy at top speed but def. not 10ft after changing into 2nd. I dunno what to say about that? I've heard mixed reviews about the 3 speed so i'm not jumping on that band wagon yet. I go taller CB's if I want speed. You may not have much option there bud.

10 ft. might be an exaggeration, but it definetly doesn't take long to redline. I was playing with it this weekend, and I noticed it probably shifts a little sooner than it needs to now that it has loosened up a little bit. I know that will have no effect on top speed, but maybe if I increase the shift point, it won't bother me so much when it winds out a little slower.

the 3 speed pretty cool hearing it shift two gear and it does add top end I've got two savage one with a 3speed and one with a 2 speed and the one with the 3 speed blow the other away so over all its pretty good upgrade.

There's nothing you can do with the 2 speed, but if you add the 3 speed, you can also put in a different 3rd gear with a taller ratio.

I love my Savage, it's almost too much fun. But it does give up a little to my Revo in terms of tunability.
