Hi, guys I'm a newb here but i have been running nitro cars since 93. I found a trick when using the traxxas ez start. First prime the engine as usual to get fuel to the carb. then crank it over regularly to get it into the engine. Then take the top starter wire off and try to crank it for a few seconds. this gets the glow plug good and hot. then just tap the starter wire to the motor terminal to get it to bump over and it will start right up. Try it out you will be amazed. also using the old ez start controller seems to work better because it dont cut power the starter motor every 5 seconds.

In a pinch this trick would come in handy. Anybody that owns a Maxx and gets on this forum should know to have an ignitor handy, though.

Put a battery that has high enough MAH in the wand and the ez-start works virtually trouble free and starts up right away if your wiring and terminal/ground wire connects plus glowplug are good and the battery is properly charged with tuning around the zone.

I tried using a 1500mah shark battery to start my T-Maxx and it had a hard time starting..I stuck in a 2000mah Dynamite and it started up alot faster...I recently stuck in a cheesy 2500mah Radio Shack battery I had in a box and my T Maxx starts up right away

Agreed. We use our junk-ass Venom 3000's in our wands. Quite a difference from a 1500 nicd. Just glad I found a use for the 2 batteries! They're too inconsistent for operating vehicles.
