I wanted to put an SUV body on my T-maxx....Will I need to get different body posts or do the stock body posts work?

Does anyone know if the T-maxx comes with higher body posts for the rear? Also are all body posts universal?

No, the tmaxx does not come with higher posts like a Savage does. You will get a set with a pro-line body, or you can buy an extended set individually.

So with an SUV body....i'll have to cut a whole in the roof for the ez-start right? That is if I don't want to keep taking the body on and off to put gas.

Where can I get an exteded set of rear body mounts for the T-mAxx??

The only time when you wouldnt have to, Is If you got the Cadilac Escalade with the bed in the back, I'm pretty sure the stock ones would do fine with that application.

Tall Body mounts can be purchased at Proline, Or I THINK, RPM.

With an SUV body, you will have to take the lid off to refuel. Cutting a whole in the top will not do you any good. Maybe a hole in the side, but that would look stupid...

Listen carefully, the Proline SUV body, comes with extended body posts for mounting. lol

Yes, a hole in the roof for the EZ start, unless you get creative like I did, and mount it to the rear bumper. Your LHS will have, or can order the taller mount for you. Also, yes, ProLine bodies have the tall mount in the package.
I have the Humm-V, and after getting tired of taking off the body to refuel, I simply opened the middle window on the driver's side.

My Advice is to get the GMC Sierra body or Crowd Pleazer haha... Those will have a cool racey look and help at keeping it a good aerodynamic level. SUV's will break easier too, Not to mention that the body will crack the posts if you plan on bashing, Think of the consequences, These bodys arent cheap! haha. Just my .2c.

That is true, the suv bodies do not seem to hold up any where near as good as regular truck bodies. Also with the extra long rear mounts its easy to bust them if you are bashing hard.

The Jeep Body by proline is a strong body if you dont set the body post to high. It is pretty easy access for the ez start and cooling head if you cut a little holes in the back and the tank is easy to fill if you cut out the triangle window sort of thing in the back.I also have the Hummer SUT body which doesn't require high body post either that is a strong body too but you have to cut more on that if you need.

In Which I would be doing, If it was mine... Heh.

Next body I am going to get is probably a new buggy body. I'll pull off my first paint job on that.

Cody, Where in VA are you btw?

Lots of bashing we do around where I am, So if your near, Come join in on the fun sometime in this spring.

skylineracer i am in northern VA, Actually Vienna to be excact, its about 15 minutes away from D.C. right near tysons corner dont know if youve herd of it. but yeah way to far from you and if you look around Pmoyer-jonzjonz22 are my neighbors too we bash and make videos alot too b/c we are only 15 and not old enough to drive real cars yet.

I want to be able to switch between my stock T-Maxx and an SUV body. I know the post would probably stick out of the regular body, but is this possible without too much work?

You'll need to get the long rear posts for the SUV body. I to wanna swtich back and forth. You can get those rear posts pretty cheap on ebay or your LHS.-
