Cut stock spring (or any softer spring) to 1/3 length. Get and cut heavier spring (Trinity, Integy... whatever) to 2/3 length. Install both together in shock, using extra spring retainers/washers (whatever those are called) in between the two springs. Repeat 7 more times.

I know there are plenty of "progressive" and other dual rate spring options out there, but making my own would give me FAR more variability in combinations of spring rates... I'm drooling just thinking about all the combinations I could try. lol

So are you asking if it would work or sharing it? Either way its a great Idea! And that would work on anything... endless possibilities...

yeah actuly this is the best way to do it for certain rigs because dual rate springs are harder and harder to find

this is nothing new, you can actually buy these springs!!! There called Dual Rate Springs....

Yep, like I said I realize they are out there... but my point was those don't offer any flexibility. If I make my own I can produce any combination of spring rates and lengths of each spring.

More sharing the idea I guess. I'm ordering a set of "low rider" extra heavy trinity springs, they are 2". The normal Xxtra heavy 3" ones are out of stock at Tower, and this way they are already 2/3 the full length. I just wonder what the spring rate is on the black low rider springs, I've yet to find the specs on them. (Trinity site dosn't even list the part # for some reason.)

Anyone know the spring rate of the Trinity TK5125 springs? (Black 2" length low rider springs.)
