my "pigs " use enough gas already and it seems I'm constantly filling them on the stock tank. can't imagine cutting my tank capacity by 1/3 and having a good time running my trucks. i would like bigger tanks, not smaller ones. tune for 1/2 tank lean and you can overcome the problem. 125cc tank you will just be fueling alot more and bashing a savage less

I rather fill it a bit more than destroy my eng because of running it lean all the time.

fill the tank, run it around for a half tank to get it warmed up, (you now have a half tank of fuel, and a "upto temp" engine. tune set the tune with half tank, run it round for rest of tank making sure its running good adjustments as necessary. half tank lean problem solved. big motors use so much more gas. instead of a 12-15 min runtime, you will be down to 8-10 min with a smaller tank.

if you tune for half tank lean you wont get it, so you shouldnt destroy engine unless its too lean to begin with. and a smaller tank isnt gonna solve that problem

Every nitro I have I tune after it warms up and i tune with half tank or less, but its nice to start your rig and have it run perfect from get go.... With no change in performance.

And there are other options. You can midtank with a 250cc ofna tank for you fuel guzzlers. I get 8-10 min on the 125cc tank with an ERCM picco.28.

I have another Savage with a Mugen 160cc midtank. I get another 2 min out of that one. Refuling 2 min earlier isnt a big deal to me. Better than running rich quater tank, good for half a tank and lean for a quater. Or pig rich for half then good for half. IDk whatever your preference. I have a chit load of trucks so I'm ready to run the next one after 10 min

I totally agree, does the 250 cc ofna tank stop the lean issue, do you have a part num for the tank.

hey nikko508 are you near crystal lake at all?.just curious roughly where your at,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

10/4i have two places the other is near fox river grove,,,,,you might be able to hear me from where your at,,,,,

That's not far from me at all. I have trained with fox river grove P.D and some guys from crystal lake.

right on if you ever need something fixed chances are i can fix it.i'm nutty that way.anything with an engine small or large.i just got a 1/5 30.5 buggy.just put a 2 speed locker in it.fastest thing i have yet.i picked up a savage .21 that is getting a .28sh+ a three speed.might beat the 1/5 i don't know.there is a school here that closed so there is plenty of room,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I saw that, but they are sold out and they don't know when they can have it back in stock..

Twins are a great for the cool factor, but can be a PITA to get synchronized and tuned. With the big powerhouse engines out there now, twins are kinda rare. Kits are hard to find. Look into the Picco.28 from ERCM or the Nova .28's. They will pull all the gearing you can throw at it. LLkoolskillet has a vid on here of a 59mph Savage. Hes running an ERCM.28.

I have thought many times about going with a twin, just for the wow factor.

i have a genesis.the fuel tank is small square maybe close to the savage but tall.if anyone is interested i could take it off and see if i can make it fit the savage .21,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
