Ok, quick question for yall. Just bought a set of supermax claw dawgs for the savage to play with and wondered if you would recomend a slight change in gearing cus these are pretty big wheels and tyres compared the the stockers they replace. Only gear mod so far is a 13t CB for a little extra kick at low end.

Vids are nearly ready as well, just need a little more time to cut and edit. Here is another one of my very sad savage pics that took about 10 seconds to create.

I run the JumboMaxx Claw Dawgz on my Savage and have not changed the gearing. They work well. They will help in the backflip area, but will reduce the height you can get on jumps. The rotational mass helps with a quicker flip, but the added weight keeps the truck low. No noticed speed reduction on the ground.

Thanks for that SkyMaxx. Not used the truck with these on yet, not had time but i am looking forward to it.

You should find it to be a tad more stable on the ground. Wider foot print and lowered center of gravity should keep it from flipping in turns.

I do not think you will be disappointed when you get to run them. What engine do you have in the Savage?

Only have the stock 21bb at the moment but it is by no means slow. Maybe the tuning is good on my truck and very bad on the other trucks i race with cus it rips the snot off most cars i have raced, they are usually .25's. Have just ordered a picco .26 so i hope that runs as well as the stocker. Thought about the zilla but i think its a lot better having the front wheels on the ground so i opted for a happy medium.

I think you will like the wheels. The .21BB is a bit underpowered, but a good tune and a decent driver can overcome that in most instances. I only asked because the additional weight of the tires might slow the truck a bunch depending on what is powering it.

Understood. Got the 13t cb fitted so that could make up for the extra weight, maybe it will slow to what it was like when completely stock, i was happy with that. 10 days for picco to be delivered to LHS so i think the power, weight thing will not be a problem once that is fitted and running. Do you know what they are like to tune.

I could run a search and find out. I run a Hyper 8-port in mine and it tunes just fine. I have heard that the Picco's are a little finicky in the tuning department, but that is just hearsay. There are others that could provide you a better answer to that question. Error, I believe, runs a picco...or did.

I am sure there will be a detailed post out there somewhere but its finding it. can't be much difference between the limited choice of .26 engines out there but i did read that the picco was the most reliable so thats why i chose to buy. Time will tell, thanks for your help...
