One thing that comes to mind when I look at that supercharger setup... Since the carbs on R/C engines are designed to be "drawn through", wouldn't it make more sense to place the charger between the carb and the engine?

maybe but then it wouldn't be able to "suck" the fuel in.

Mido, I mean you no disrespect and I hope that you've gotten to know me through the forum well enough to know that I try in every way not to cause trouble. I don't dispute what you said one bit. I would really like to see some data. This can range anywhere from you measuring top speed with a radar gun, to drawing lines with chalk and using a stopwatch to measure how long it takes to get to that point, etc... This would have to be done with your RC on the same exact day as near as possible to the same time to eliminate variables, all tests being done with and without the supercharger. Then we could tell how much of a power increase you get, where it is in the power band, etc... Now I understand that you are not a RCNT test researcher and you know your ride feels faster and you like it and thats fine. But if you did want to test a theory and get some results, I would love to hear what happens. Hey, I would even help out if I could, even if it's just with the cost of some fuel or glow plugs.

Charliestheman I feel you on the testing, I have been thinking that i would do some comparison test, question? can you suggest a economical digital system for benchmarking I saw a small set-up in buyers guide that claimed to record and store all types of data, top speed, run time, lap time. is this an accurate claim? anyway would like to discuss this subject more i will start a post in general nitro. ..
This is my trx 2.5 with supercharger on my stampede.HAHAHA.. It ran great for a few jumps, then i finally ground the spur gear smooth. he he, anyway i have alot of luck with the supercharger, it normally is in my t-maxx but while i am rebuilding i decided to have some fun wrenching on the stampe and has held a tune quite well. i'm still new so I agree with Charlie it might just be my perception and thats ok were in this to have fun , by the way i dont see many post about the stampede. but i must say it was my first Nitro truck and it has takin a beating well, parts are resonable and easy to find at LHS.. . but bigger is better so back to the t-maxx... :clap:

agreed.
I willl be strapping on a GPS to my maxx here pretty soon to test out the picco .26max motor I just dropped in. My buddy uses it on his mountian bike and has a little case for it that we are going to strap down. Something like that would be ideal for this type of testing

Smaxxin has pics of his GPS device that he has been using to test the mods to his race truck. We both have very similar trucks, both have the Sidewinder 4600 system, and both have maxamps lipo batteries. His testing is helping me a lot to know how much certain items change the speed characteristics of the truck. Here's a link to the thread so you can scroll down and see the pics.
