Are there considerable power gains when a supercharger is installed? I'm saving up for an LRP spec 3 .28 at the moment and might consider the supercharger aswell if i hear positive things about it.

Also has anyone got a picture of a LST/Aftershock with the RD Logics dual exit pipe? I wanna see how it looks when its actually attached to the truck:).

The superchargers are junk. It looks really impressive and a good way to spend $150 .....and get absolutely nothing out of it. Nothing but hype in my opinion. The LRP is breaking MIP CVD shafts on mt Savage......for the money it is the most power available. Spend that money on a good THS pipe or there likes.....you will be happier in the long run

I'm not a big fan of either. For one thing, that exhaust seems like it could cause some serious damage if bashing or racing hard as it could easily get hung up and take a lot of impact on a hrad landing. I don't have an LST, but that engine that you mentioned is what I was going to put in my Savage. The supercharger seems terribly inefficient and a waste of money. I think it's a nice bling item for a shelf queen, but for something that's actually driven it seems like its just more places to have problems with no data that I've been able to find to show any actual power gains. I was considering one and I spent A LOT of time looking for data show some power gain with a supercharger and never could find any.

Actually, the superchargers seem to work, but I just don't think it's worth it. It pretty much just forces more air into your engine, meaning more horsepower. So I would pass on that. I've heard lots of good stuff about the LRP, like it's power. Not sure about the exhaust.

Well, I guess that's the supercharger out of the equation then. What do I have to do to fully harness the power of the LRP?. I mainly run my aftershock on flat grassy terrain, so speed is a necessity, especially with my friend's T-Maxx with a Picco .26 hanging around.

A TMaxx with a .26, that's a lot of power in a light weight truck, especially compared to an Aftershock. The LRP is a great engine, a lot more powerful than you think. That engine with the right pipe will move an Aftershock nicely. The Losi HT pipe that comes on the LST2 works great with that engine and does not cost a lot( Try E-Bay). Do not waste your money on a dual exhaust, they kill performance. They are not true tuned pipes. The JP-2 pipe is even better on the LRP but it is expensive plus you still have to buy a LST style one piece header.

How about gearing and stuff? I would very much like more top-end punch.

Thanks for the info by the way :)

A friend of mine has a racer Aftershock, we tried running a +1 pinion on it with 3 different engines. We both thought the truck was faster with the stock clutchbell on all three. It accelerated harder and was able to wind out the engine a little higher with the stock clutchbell. The LRP revs a LOT higher than your stock M26 could ever think of, resulting in more topend speed. When you go up on the clutchbell teeth, it wears clutches faster too.

Oh I see. The engine and the pipe are the priorities at the moment. Everything else after that. I'm going to the U.S. in September, so I might have to do the shopping over there to save myself some money.

I have a lrp .28 spec 3 on my lst and it is crazy fast with the stock clutch bell. I can pull wheelies so easy. It a great engine, easy to tune, reliable and fast and powerful.
